SALARY £35,000 - £40,000 DOE

Our client is looking for a Buyer to join their team. This position is responsible for supporting the sourcing and procurement of products. The Buyer works with various departments and end users of products to ensure the correct product is purchased in a timely manner, and with vendors to verify product pricing and expected delivery.

Main responsibilities: 
•    Develops and maintains appropriate vendor relationships to meet business needs
•    Researches, selects and purchases appropriate products and materials to fulfil orders
•    Issues and modifies vendor quotes, purchase orders and any other procurement-based transactions as necessary.
•    Maintains and updates the appropriate order tracking system with anticipated delivery dates and other relevant order information. Follows up with vendors as necessary to maintain accurate information
•    Maintains appropriate Vendor Management documentation through appropriate vendor contact, audits and record keeping. 
•    Supports issue escalation, root cause analysis, and vendor corrective action documentation as it relates to vendor quality issues. 
•    Works with Production Managers and other team members to develop standards for inventory items and inventory purchase quantities.
•    Works with project teams and clients to recommend appropriate products based on vendor feedback, market conditions, or supply chain constraints.
•    Monitors and analyses vendor performance to anticipate problems and obstacles, and collaborates with customers, suppliers, distribution and Project Management team members to prevent and/or resolve issues 
•    Remain current with local, regional and international regulatory requirements related products purchased. 
•    Contributes to a team environment, through effective collaboration and communication, participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned 

Candidate requirements:
•    Minimum 3 years’ experience in a professional office setting 
•    Excellent oral and written communication skills
•    Strong organisational and analytical skills
•    Attention to detail and ability to multitask and prioritise
•    Knowledge of MS Office require
•    Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics is desirable
•    Strong negotiation skills
•    Strong interpersonal and conflict management skills
•    Ability to build and maintain strong vendor relationships
