About the role
Our client is looking for a bright and enthusiastic Lab Technologist to join their team part time. Ideally a background knowledge of chemistry or lab work would be required for the role. You will be working on sampling, testing, and QA and competitor testing. Whilst predominantly working independently you should also be able to work within a team to draw experience, feedback, and advice from your colleagues. Applicants should be organised, analytical, able to work independently, be a creative problem solver, and a desire to strive for excellence.
Job Role Summary
There will be several elements to the role:
- Making up testing and approval samples
- Testing new product and revising samples if not approved
- Recording test results within our Cloud Drive so they can be accessed cross-departmentally and so we have robust records
- Maintain a good standard of organisation and cleanliness in the lab
- Create product labelling based on agreed formulations and sense check that they look correct – training will be provided
Job Role Specifics:
Formulation:
- To have confidence making up samples for client and colleague approval.
- To be able to sample a range of product applications.
- To make suggestions on formulas when testing isn’t approved
- Look into new product bases to improve on our current catalogue – review previous investigations and look at the project with fresh eyes.
- To be involved in the testing of all new products and performance.
- To check and approve pre-production samples (Red Seals) for new products.
- To check and approve 1st production samples (Gold Seals) for new products.
- Organise all findings appropriately, so that the company can easily read and use your research.
- Organise time to ensure products are being tested in a timely manner.
- Create labelling information for product
- Create Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for product based on the approved formulation
- Ensure SDS’ are stored within our Cloud Drive in the relevant place
- Request and maintain regulatory documents from our suppliers
- Run regulatory review on a 2-year cycle to check compliance of products
- Be a point of advice for NPD teams once fully trained
