Description
Service & Production Engineer
Walton-on-Thames (with international travel)
Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 (DOE)

We’re working with a specialist engineering company that designs and builds highly technical, bespoke equipment used by clients around the world. Due to growth, they’re looking for a Service & Production Engineer to join their team.
This is a hands-on, varied role combining UK-based workshop work with international travel. You’ll spend time learning the company’s equipment in-depth at their UK site, before supporting installations, servicing, and troubleshooting at customer sites globally.
This role would suit someone who enjoys understanding how things work, solving problems, and working with their hands—whether that experience comes from work, hobbies, or personal projects.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Building and assembling equipment at the UK site
  • Supporting installation and commissioning at customer locations worldwide
  • Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs (mechanical and electrical)
  • Performing routine servicing and maintenance
  • Providing basic training and support to customers on-site
  • Working closely with a small, collaborative team
  • Producing clear service reports and maintaining records
You’ll typically spend 20-50% of your time travelling internationally, with the remainder based in the UK workshop.

What They’re Looking For
We’re keen to hear from people with a strong practical mindset and a genuine interest in how things work. Full training will be provided on the company’s equipment.
You might be someone who:
  • Enjoys fixing, building, or tinkering (cars, bikes, electronics, DIY projects, etc.)
  • Has worked in a hands-on or technical environment
  • Is naturally curious and enjoys problem-solving
  • Is keen to learn a specialist product
 Key qualities:
  • Practical, hands-on ability
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to learn and develop
  • Good communication skills and confidence working with customers
  • Flexibility to travel internationally
  Why Apply?
  • Full training on specialist equipment
  • Opportunity to travel internationally
  • Varied role combining workshop and field-based work
  • Join a small, supportive team environment
  • Work with highly technical, bespoke systems

Important Note
We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds. If you have a strong practical aptitude and a willingness to learn, we encourage you to apply—even if you don’t have a traditional engineering background.

Please note if you have not been contacted by Plum Personnel within seven days then unfortunately on this occasion you have been unsuccessful.
